What does CoatSpec calculate?

Where is my inspection data stored?
Entirely in your browser, in localStorage mirrored to IndexedDB, so a page refresh or a dropped connection never loses the log. Nothing you enter is uploaded. Use the backup button to download a JSON file you can restore on another device.
Does CoatSpec implement SSPC-PA 2 exactly?
It models the standard's structure as commonly applied: spot measurements as averages of at least three gage readings, five spots per roughly 100 square feet, and per-level spot tolerances such as the default Level 3's 80 to 120 percent. It is an aid, not the standard - verify acceptance against the edition your project specification cites.
Can I work in metric and imperial units?
Yes. A single toggle switches every thickness between mils and microns (1 mil = 25.4 microns) and every temperature between Celsius and Fahrenheit, in the inputs, the log, and the printed report. Values are stored in one canonical unit so nothing drifts when you switch.
Is CoatSpec free?
The calculations, field logging, PA 2 evaluation, CSV export, and printable reports are free. If billing is enabled, a premium tier adds unlimited projects and work areas, photo evidence, gauge CSV import, and a branded report header.
